Install the 6rsh plugin (v1.8.0+), open 6rsh → Website Chat, tick "Show Web Chat on my store" and paste your widget key. No code. The plugin can also recognise signed-in customers and share cart context.

If the bubble does not appear

Nine times out of ten the domain is not on the widget's allowed list. Open your browser console: a 403 origin_not_allowed means you need to add that exact domain in the widget settings. A 404 means the key is wrong or the widget is switched off. Full troubleshooting, including Content Security Policy, is in the Web Chat docs.

💡 WhatsApp API Basics

What is a message template?

Message templates are pre-approved message formats that you submit to Meta for review. They are required for sending marketing, utility, or authentication messages outside the 24-hour conversation window. Templates can include text, images, buttons, and variables like customer name or order number.

What is the 24-hour conversation window?

When a customer sends you a message, a 24-hour window opens during which you can reply with free-form text messages. After 24 hours without a customer reply, the window closes and you must use an approved template to re-engage the conversation.

How does opt-in work?

Before sending marketing messages, customers must explicitly opt-in to receive WhatsApp communications from you. Meta requires proof of opt-in. You can collect opt-ins through web forms, in-store sign-ups, or by asking customers to message you first. 6rsh tracks opt-in status for each contact.

What are conversation charges?

Meta charges per conversation (24-hour window), not per message. Marketing conversations cost approximately $0.02–0.08 per conversation depending on the destination country. Utility and authentication conversations are typically cheaper. Service conversations (customer-initiated) may be free depending on your monthly allocation. All charges appear in your Meta Business account.

Marketing: Promotions, offers, announcements. Subject to monthly limits on free plan. Utility: Order updates, shipping notifications, appointment reminders. No monthly limits. Authentication: OTP codes, verification messages. No monthly limits.

What quality rating means

Meta assigns a quality rating (GREEN/YELLOW/RED) based on customer feedback. If many customers block or report your number, the rating drops. A RED rating can lead to messaging restrictions. Maintain quality by only messaging opted-in contacts with relevant content.

How long does template approval take?

Meta typically reviews templates within a few minutes to 24 hours. You can check the status in your Templates page.

Can I import contacts from Excel?

Yes. Save your Excel file as CSV (comma-separated values) with columns: name, phone, email, tags. Then import it from the Contacts page.

Are message charges from 6rsh or Meta?

WhatsApp conversation charges are billed by Meta directly to your Meta Business account. 6rsh does not add any markup on message costs.

Can I send to multiple countries?

Yes. Format phone numbers with country code (e.g., +971 for UAE, +966 for Saudi Arabia). Meta charges vary by destination country.
